Cultivating Sacred Intention
A Way to the Heart’s Aim
an evening with Regina Sara Ryan & Tom Lennon

Invoking the fire of genuine devotion—to the highest spiritual principles, to a guru or teacher, to the Beloved, to Love itself—is a means of cultivating sacred intention, a direct way to the heart’s aim. Great masters, saints and teachers (women and men from all traditions) have shown us the transformational power of the Sacred to both purify the mind and ignite the heart.
Regina and Tom invite seekers and practitioners from all spiritual paths to join them in this evening’s consideration. The purpose of this gathering is to generate remembrance of the heart’s intention, its longing, and the necessity for this to emerge in our lives.
Together we will consider:
- The witness of great lovers, great devotees, from all traditions.
- The art of devotion. How it works in mind and heart.
Friday, February 24, 2012, 7:30 PM, $10

100 Arapahoe St., Suite 4

Regina Sara Ryan is the author of eleven books including The Woman Awake, Praying Dangerously and Igniting the Inner Life. A former Catholic nun, Regina has studied the contemplative arts of many religious and spiritual traditions for the past 40 years.
Tom Lennon has been a devotee of the Western Baul path since 1993. During his first of 12 trips to India in the company of his spiritual master, Lee Lozowick, he was introduced to the genre of sacred poetry. This poetry opened the door to his heart's aim, and continues to drive his inner life amidst a demanding schedule of business and family responsibilities.
Regina and Tom have been supporting one another's sadhana for over 20 years, and have recently begun working together (in the U.S. and Mexico) in addressing basic issues of spiritual life and practice. Both Regina and Tom are long-term practitioners of the Western Baul path and devotees of spiritual master Lee Lozowick.
Praying Dangerously
a seminar for women & men on a spiritual path
with Regina Sara Ryan

Sentimental, and childish approaches to prayer and spirituality—a common tendency in this day— might feel good, even for a long time. But they will ultimately delay the serious practitioner in her/his quest for realization . . . for true aliveness.
“I praise what is truly alive,
what longs to be burned to death…” —Goethe
The mystics and passionate lovers of the Divine within the world's great religions have always “prayed dangerously.” They chose to embrace the darkness, to love, to live in gratitude, to put others first, and to say “Yes—again and again—despite all odds! With such dynamic and deep intention have they achieved clarity, and witnessed the false self dismantled and resurrected in a wholly new way.
This gathering will offer:
- Inspiration to deepen the inner life—through prayer, self-observation, meditation, listening within, embracing Life as it is.
- Time for quiet self-reflection,
- Participation in both active and passive prayer forms,
- Sharing the warmth and good company of others with a similar commitment.
Regina Sara Ryan is a former Roman Catholic nun and a twenty-six-year student and devotee of Western Baul master Lee Lozowick. She is a writer and seminar leader, and the author of many books, including The Woman Awake, Igniting the Inner Life, and Praying Dangerously: Radical Reliance on God—recently released in its 10th anniversary edition.
In her wise, fierce, challenging book, Regina Sara Ryan helps restore to seekers on all paths the art of praying dangerously, and reveals its rewards of sacred passion and naked honesty, of surrender and of the capacity to celebrate fearlessly, even in the darkest fires of personal anguish or public apocalypse.—Andrew Harvey, author: The Hope: A Guide to Sacred Activism and The Essential Mystics.

Invitation to the Here and Now
The Everyday Possibility of Genuine Practice
A one-day seminar with Tom Lennon & Regina Sara Ryan
The Wonder of Being permeates Reality, and thus offers us a constant invitation to participate in it. Yet, we often miss the Divine Invitation that is available Here and Now in every moment. This day offers us an opportunity to pay attention, to remember, and to say "Yes" once again.
"There lives the dearest freshness deep down things. . ."
—Gerard Manley Hopkins, God's Grandeur
Join Regina and Tom as we explore and celebrate the nature of genuine spiritual practice as the means to transform the apathy, negativity, judgment, assumptions, expectations, and complaints of life into fuel for the journey "home" within authentic relationship to all things.
This seminar is for practitioners of any spiritual path who wish to:
- Move from there and then to here and now.
- Identify what has captured their attention
- Re-Member what the Body Knows
- Exercise Self-Observation in daily life
- Bring practice alive, moment to moment, in daily life
- Celebrate the good company of those who share dedication
